Our Program Goals

[ 1 ] This project will provide pediatric health care to an underprivileged population that currently suffers from a severe shortage of well-trained health practioner availability, with a resultant lack of timely, and proper, diagnosis and treatment.

[ 2 ] U.S.-based physicians will benefit by participating in decision making, diagnosis, and treatment of children in an area of the world where children currently suffer from inadequate health care.

[ 3 ] U.S.-based medical staff will benefit from experiences with new types of pediatric cases which differ from the more common ailments encountered in North American training and practice. Furthermore, cross-cultural exposure will assist U.S. physicians in developing a more effective relationship with immigrant families at home.

[ 4 ] Simultaneous training of local health care providers will allow for the development of a self-sustaining pediatric clinic for underprivileged families in Roatán and the surrounding Bay Islands.

[ 5 ] Broadband internet will be utilized to develop the first substantial telemedicine program in Honduras, allowing enhanced long-term medical support from physicians in the U.S. to both visiting and local clinic staff.

Global Healing Mission Statement: Global Healing is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to accomplish health care reform, through education, in areas of the world where modern health care is not available. This is achieved by working directly with local government officials, health-care providers, educators, businesses, public institutions, and private citizens to put processes in place to ensure the development of self-sufficiency.
